Der Zitrusgarten
A world-class garden, unique in Austria with a collection of over 210 varieties of citrus plants from around the world. A botantical garden with ancient species from 16th century Medici collections, rare varieties and exotic fruits from the Far East as well as newer strains from the Australian hemisphere.

Covering 600m2, the large greenhouse provides protection from the elements and is open to visitors in any weather. Stroll through 1,800m2 of outdoor Mediterranean gardens adorned with old-growth citrus trees, palms, olives, and many other Mediterranean plant varieties. Numerous areas invite visitors to sit and linger.

The citrus garden delights visitors with a new footpath lined with unusual species. The general public and experts alike are welcome. The plant collection is interspersed with footpaths, seating areas, ponds, and handmade terracotta pieces.

Guests with special interest can register for presentations on history, botany, biodiversity, citrus plant care as well as tastings of garden products, including lemon iced tea, orange torte, lemon cake, and marmalade.

Located on spectacular Lake Faaker, the area offers numerous tourist sights, including the "Burgarena Finkenstein".
